Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using Velocity ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you don't agree, don't use the App.

These Terms apply to the macOS application, web dashboard, and all related services provided by Velocity Inc. ("we", "us", "our").

Velocity is a voice-to-text dictation application for macOS. It provides:

• Real-time speech-to-text transcription
• Cloud-based AI processing (optional)
• Offline transcription using local AI models
• Personal vocabulary learning
• Context-aware text formatting

To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current information
• Keep your login credentials secure
• Notify us immediately of unauthorized access
• Be responsible for all activity under your account

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you're under 18, you must have parental consent.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal or commercial purposes.

Lifetime Deal (LTD) License: If you purchased a Lifetime Deal, your license is perpetual for the version at time of purchase, plus all updates we release during the lifetime of the product.

You may NOT:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Modify, adapt, or create derivative works
• Rent, lease, lend, sell, or sublicense the App
• Remove any proprietary notices or labels
• Use the App for illegal purposes

Each pricing tier includes a monthly quota of cloud transcription minutes:

• Solo: 60 minutes/month
• Pro: 300 minutes/month
• Agency: Unlimited (with BYOK)

We reserve the right to suspend accounts that abuse the service, including but not limited to: automated/bot usage, sharing accounts, or circumventing usage limits.

Lifetime Deals: One-time payment for lifetime access. No recurring fees.

Refund Policy: We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you're not satisfied, email support@velocity.app within 30 days of purchase for a full refund.

Payments are processed by Stripe. By purchasing, you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.

Agency tier users may provide their own API keys for third-party services (Deepgram, OpenAI). When using BYOK:

• You are responsible for your API provider's terms and costs
• We are not responsible for charges incurred with your provider
• Your key is stored encrypted and never shared

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your data.

The App and all related content, features, and functionality are owned by Velocity Inc. and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You retain ownership of all content you create using the App. The transcribed text belongs to you.

The App integrates with third-party services (Cloudflare, Deepgram, Stripe, etc.). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms. We are not responsible for third-party service interruptions or changes.

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:

• The App will be uninterrupted or error-free
• Transcriptions will be 100% accurate
• The App will meet all your requirements
• Any errors will be corrected

Speech recognition accuracy depends on many factors including audio quality, background noise, and speaking clarity.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, VELOCITY INC. SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS RELATED TO THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE 12 MONTHS PRIOR TO THE CLAIM.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Velocity Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.

For LTD users: If we discontinue the App entirely, we will provide at least 6 months notice and offer a pro-rata refund at our discretion.

We may modify these Terms at any time. We'll notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of San Francisco County, California.
